Weiner Religious School Registration is Now Open!

Registration is now open for the 2026–2027 Weiner Religious School year at Congregation Beth Torah! We are so excited to welcome Rabbi Craig Lewis on July 1, as we begin a new chapter in our school community and explore this year’s theme, Judaism Through an Environmental Lens. WRS offers an inclusive and engaging Jewish education experience for students in PreK through high school, featuring Hebrew, holidays, social justice, hands-on learning, and meaningful community connections.

T.A.G. (grades 6–8) will move to Sundays during WRS next year, while Confirmation programming (grades 9+) is being developed with Rabbi Lewis, with details to be announced soon concerning the schedule and how the Madrichim program will be affected.

Weiner Religious School

Sunday School & TAG

Congregation Beth Torah strives to provide the tools and experiences inherent in living and learning Jewishly in the twenty-first century.

Mission Statement

Built on the bedrock of Torah, the Weiner Religious School provides our children and teens with a foundational framework and knowledge of Jewish liturgy, ritual practice, ethics and tradition. WRS cultivates a warm, nurturing environment for children as they explore what it means to live a Jewish life. We strive to inculcate a strong sense of Jewish identity, pride and community and support WRS families whatever their background or practice.

Vision Statement

Our youngest learners begin their journey in our Sunday School, where they discover the holidays, prayers and mitzvot through experiential learning and meaningful, spiritually focused activities. Each year in the school, they will deep dive into grade-appropriate topics and review previously introduced material to ensure mastery of the information.

As our new b’nei mitzvah graduates from Sunday School enter the Torah, Avodah, G’milut Chasadim (TAG) class, they work on building their personal Jewish identity. They explore  modern ideas and challenging topics as they engage with issues relevant to their lives. As they work toward confirmation, they integrate their own sense of self and their place in the continuity of the Jewish people. They’ll leave WRS prepared to build their Jewish practice, to pursue tikkun olam and to show up for their community.

Pre-K through High School

By the end of their education in the Weiner Religious School, students will be able to:

  • Cite specific experiences that have helped them form their Jewish identity;

  • Apply aspects of Jewish knowledge in their own lives;

  • Synthesize their own personal religious values, rooted in Judaism;

  • Find their own Jewish direction.
