Shavuot Celebration - Friday, May 22, 6:30 p.m.
Don’t miss any of the festivities!
Join Beth Torah to celebrate both Shavuot and Shabbat this year on Friday, May 22 at 6:30. We'll have our service with the reading of the Ten Commandments and then share a dairy dessert potluck and learn something new as our fellow congregants present about their special interests from serious to silly.
Interested in presenting? Sign up to Spiel by May 20, 2026 (click here to sign up!). No RSVP required to attend the event.
Celebrate Shavuot at Beth Torah! 6:30-9:00 p.m. | May 22
Please join us June 1 to celebrate Shavuot at Beth Torah. We’ll hear the 10 Commandments, we’ll eat delicious dairy desserts, and we’ll have the opportunity to do some traditional and not-so-traditional Shavuot study. Don’t miss any of the festivities!
At 6:30 p.m. - Our Shavuot/Shabbat service and reading of the 10 Commandments.
After the service, it’s time to Schpiel Your Guts. Prepare a three-minute presentation on literally any (family-friendly) topic to share with the congregation. Whether it’s pictures of your dog or a lesson on quantum mechanics, we want to hear from you! We’re also doing a dessert potluck, so bring your favorite dessert to share. This event was a blast last year!
Dairy Potluck
It’s a tradition to eat dairy on Shavuot, so bring your favorite dairy or pareve dish to share!
Call for Presentations
We want you – yes, YOU – to share about your favorite topic at our Schpiel Your Guts sessions. These three-minute presentations can be on any topic, Jewish or not—just make them family friendly. Put a PowerPoint presentation together and share your special interest with the congregation. These casual, low pressure presentations are a great way to learn something new and cheer on your friends.
Please submit all PowerPoints or other audio-visual material to Emily Albano at emily.v.albano@gmail.com by May 20, so we can have presentations loaded and ready to go.
If you have questions, please reach out to Emily Albano at emily.v.albano@gmail.com.
