Our Education is Activism Social Justice Sub-Committee remains hard at work finding speakers, programs, and activities that help us take our Jewish values from words on the page in and our hearts to action in the world.

The Education is Activism Sub-Committee is excited to announce …

Our Speaker Series continues on October 16. We have invited Devin Burghart, President and Executive Director of the Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights (IREHR) (https://irehr.org) to join us for Shabbat. The IREHR is a social justice watch dog organization founded by Beth Torah member, Leonard Zesskind, z”l. Director Burghart is in town promoting the October 13 nationwide release of the paperback version of Lenny’s book, Blood and Politics. He will speak about the rise of anti-immigration sentiment and its connection to extremist hate groups. We hope you can attend and bring a friend to what we are sure will be an informative presentation.

After we complete our worship service, Rabbi Lewis will invite Director Burghart to the bima to speak, then we will all join together in the ulam for oneg.
