Lezlie Zucker, Music Coordinator

Congregation Beth Torah is pleased to announce that Lezlie Revelle Zucker has accepted the position of Music Coordinator. We are delighted to welcome Lezlie to our congregational staff in this new capacity. Lezlie and her husband Dave Zucker have been active members of Beth Torah since 2009.

Rabbi Cattapan and Rabbi Kleinman will collaborate with Lezlie to develop worship that will meet the needs of our congregants and connect our members with worship and with each other.

Lezlie has extensive experience leading music at Beth Torah as well as in writing, performing, and leading music most of her life.

Rabbi Cattapan explains the next steps for our worship music on the front page of the June Tekiah. Here is an excerpt from that article,

“I would like to share with you where we stand on worship music at our congregation. As many of you know, we conducted a search for a full-time Music Director. The search committee, led by Howard Pitler, did a tremendous job in preparing the job description and posting it in every imaginable job list and website. After a two-month search, we didn’t find a suitable candidate. After much consideration by the staff and our Board, we decided to go a different route. We will hire two part-time individuals. One will be our Music Coordinator and the other our Choir Director. The Music Coordinator will serve as sheliach/chag tzibbur, worship leader. As part of our efforts to move toward a more relational approach, the MC will devote time to engage our members who have musical talent or who simply would like to be part of our worship teams. In order to continue with our tradition of having an adult choir and other ensembles, the Choir Director will be responsible for preparing all vocal ensembles for the Holy Days as well as throughout the year at Erev Shabbat and chagim services.”

We continue to search for a person to fill our Choir Director position. Please share this link with anyone you know who might be interested.
