Purim Celebration

We are looking for some creative, enthusiastic and FUN friends to help us put together the best-ever Weiner Religious School Purim Carnival. The Carnival is scheduled for Sunday, March 6th from 11:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Volunteers need to make and bake hamantashen for our Purim Carnival.  Bring your rolling pin and come to the Beth Torah kitchen on Sunday, February 26th from 9:00 a.m. – noon and join a wonderful group of women who will be baking hamantashen.  You’ll have a fun morning while helping prepare for the Purim Carnival that will be held on March 5th. Last year a small group of women cranked out more than 300 cookies and more than 1,000 laughs!  If you’d like to help on the 26th or if you can help by making dough before that day (or both!), contact Marcia Rittmaster at mrittmaster@beth-torah.org for details and the recipe.

Café Shushan presents: The Lion Queen: The GOOD Elton John years

Erev Purim is Saturday night, March 11th.  Come and hear once again about the heroics of Esther as we read the megillah beginning at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary and then stay to fulfill the commandment to  be festive at Café Shushan.  The Café Shushan Players will be telling Esther’s  story through Elton John’s glitzy eye glasses and there will be coffee and hamantaschen for all.  No RSVP is necessary. Just bring a box of macaroni and cheese to use as a grogger and then donate to the JFS Food Pantry.  Costumes are encouraged although no hyenas will be admitted.
