April Food Drives

Thank for your continued donations. Along with JSF and Harvesters, the Beth Torah community continues to meet food insecurity in Kansas City head on.

MAY IS BETH TORAH MONTH AT THE JFS FOOD PANTRY!

May is our month and the theme is Shavuot! In addition to products produced from the wheat harvest, the food pantry needs Peanut Butter, Cereal, and Sun Screen. Let’s not let JFS forget that Congregation Beth Torah is a leader in the fight against Kansas City food insecurity!

Close to 17% of the population of Kansas and Missouri experience food insecurity.  This can affect school and work performance, social stability, and physical and mental health.

In 2015, 125,000 pounds of food was distributed to singles, families and older adults. Thirty percent of the people served are children under the age of 18. JFS assists people from all walks of life, regardless of religion. (JFS Website)
