Friday Night Opportunities
After the tragic events of this last week, coming together as a community can provide a sense of wholeness. There are two community options for you this Friday night, April 18th:
Friday night worship at Congregation Beth Torah will feature a dialog about the impact of violence in greater Kansas City between Rabbi Levin and the Honorable Alvin Brooks, founder of the Ad Hoc Group Against Crime and former Mayor Pro Tem of Kansas City. Worship begins at 6:30 p.m.; there is always a light nosh. All are welcome.
Representatives of area Jewish youth groups, BBYO, NCSY, USY, and NFTY, have arranged a Candle Light Vigil Walk for Friday night. A Shabbat service will be helped at the Jewish COmmunity Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. to remember those most affected by this tragedy. At 7:00 p.m., participants will walk from the JCC to Village Shalom with candles and signs to honor the families and the lives of the victims.
We encourage you to participate in these events.
